The first blog for teachers that I came across and thoroughly enjoyed was called "A Chat With Mary." After reading through some of her postings I decided that this would be great tool to use for a variety of different things. She keeps everything very simple and to the point. Also, she offers different websites for different school subjects. She gives great examples of what to use during math lessons, spelling, and geography. Check out this great blog. http://achatwithmary.blogspot.com
Another great blog I found was called "Blogging in the Classroom." This particular blog explored blogging for teachers and parents which I think is will become quite popular sooner than later. Also discussed was the fact that it needs to be easy to understand. I couldn't agree more! Not everybody can look at a new program and know exactly what to do so a step by step "how to" is extremely helpful. check it out at http://www.classroomblogging.com/.
I would definitely use a blog as a teacher for a variety of reasons. It would give the student's parents a different look into what we are doing in the classroom. Also, I think it would be great to have the chance to find new activities and projects that I find useful for my classroom and post the websites so others can use and benefit from them.
